What are dynamic QR codes?

Dynamic QR codes are QR codes where the data is stored on a server rather than inside the code image, allowing the content to be updated at any time.

When a user scans a dynamic QR code, the device sends a request to a server, which returns the most up‑to‑date version of the content. The QR image contains only an identifier, not the actual data.

This architecture enables flexible content management and real‑time updates.

Technical characteristics:

  • data stored remotely on a server;
  • QR contains only an ID or token;
  • server can return different content depending on conditions;
  • supports UTM parameters and tracking;
  • analytics available: scans, geography, devices;
  • access control options;
  • content can be updated instantly.

Where the technology is essential:

  • digital menus and catalogs;
  • logistics tracking;
  • dynamic landing pages;
  • CRM/ERP integrations;
  • automated marketing systems;
  • content management platforms.

Dynamic QR codes are a modern technological tool for managing information in real time.
