Definition of Dynamic QR Codes

What are dynamic QR codes?

Dynamic QR codes are a coding format that allows you to completely change the target content at any moment. At the same time, the actual image printed on packaging or advertising media remains exactly the same.

The main technical feature of this technology lies in its server architecture. Unlike a standard static code, a dynamic one does not store the final data within itself. Only a unique digital identifier is a token that is embedded in its matrix.

At the moment of scanning, the user's smartphone sends a request to a remote server, which reads this ID and instantly redirects the device to the relevant content: a webpage, document, menu, or product card. It is this server-based solution that opens up extensive opportunities for tracking and management. The system makes it easy to implement UTM tags, set flexible access restrictions based on time or geolocation, and track the exact number of scans, device types, and audience geography.

Dynamic QR codes can be integrated into digital menus and catalogs, logistics trackers, marketing automation, content management systems, and other digital services.
